Fresh off the soundtrack to the second season of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, the latest hit from Interscope’s Selena Gomez is giving her excited fanbase more than 13 reasons to celebrate. Last Thursday afternoon, “Back To You” went to #2 on iTunes, a notch lower than her previous single, the Marshmello-assisted “Wolves”. However, that might change as the end of the week approaches, with both the soundtrack and second season of the show debuting on Friday. As “Back” holds steady in the top ten, while also maintaining a spot in the lower rungs of the top 100 on Apple Music, the single is also reacting on the other major services. At Spotify, it remains in the #20 position on the Global chart, cresting above two million daily streams, while also scoring lofty #8 and #11 entries on the U.S. and Global Viral charts, respectively. With over 11 million plays since its first day of availability, the combination of key pop playlisting and future boosts from the events of this upcoming Friday should easily drive those numbers higher. It’s no surprise, however, since Gomez’s single has already ranked in over 50 countries on Spotify and a giant 95 countries on iTunes. Grab your sunblock and shades - the Summer of Selena is here!
