When a new album from BigHit’s BTS rushes into the market, it’s best to step aside and let the ARMY get the job done. The soldiers of the songs chart took on another musical mission, breaking the survey and besting their statistics several days ago when LOVE YOURSELF 轉 'Tear', the group’s sixth set overall, opened to a massive debut around the world. The album itself hit #1 on iTunes in 77 of the 87, or roughly 89%, countries it charted in, a much larger total than that of their Japanese set Face Yourself (53 out of 83, 64%) from a few weeks back. Individual songs from the highly-anticipated album dominated the upper rungs of the chart, most reaching the top 20, led by the radio single "Fake Love" (#2), opener "Intro: Singularity" (#4), the Steve Aoki-assisted "The Truth Untold" (#7) and "Airplane, Pt. 2" (#9), with other tracks like "Magic Shop" (#11) and "Love Maze" (#12) resting just outside the top ten. Streaming action for their new album is also very good, as “Fake” leads at Apple Music (currently #88 in the U.S.) and Spotify (#17 Global/30 U.S.), with all eleven songs totaling over 60 million plays at the latter service. Additionally, a video for “Fake” holds the biggest one-day view total of 2018 at YouTube with a cool 35.9 million plays. Once again, Beyond The Scene easily goes beyond expectations.
