Epic’s Jennifer Lopez likes the sound of money, but the sound of a hit record might be a solid runner-up on the list. Her newest song is titled “Dinero”, which features labelmate DJ Khaled and rap star Cardi B, and it sure is making a lot of dollars and sense in the marketplace. As Lopez and new pal Benjamin Franklin (or Frank-o, if you will) count their stacks for the umpteenth time, you’ll find the tune holding in the top 20 on iTunes, where it reached #11 following a performance on the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. Globally, the song had a solid debut at the service as well, charting in 76 territories and reaching the top ten in 26. That global presence extends to streaming services like Spotify, where “Dinero” lands at #11 and #22 on the U.S. and Global Viral lists, respectively, surging over two million streams. However, more than that, this collaboration extends featured artist Cardi B’s reign in the U.S. market, with single “Be Careful” (#20 Apple Music/#70 iTunes/#51 U.S. Spotify) rising due to a video premiere, now at seven million views on YouTube, and the Bad Bunny and J Balvin-assisted “I Like It” (#16 Apple Music/#44 iTunes/#8 U.S. Spotify) proving to be a likely summer winner. In short, the dollars are flowing, no matter what these artists do. Did our check get lost in the mail? (Images courtesy of Epic Records and YouTube / @CardiB)
