It’s no secret that Right Hand performer Khalid knows how to make a collaboration with that magical musical touch. His duet with Keep Cool’s Normani, “Love Lies”, found a lot of love, generating over 304 million plays on Spotify and 53 million views on YouTube. He’s also found success with acts like Billie Eilish (“lovely”), Marshmello (“Silence”) and Shawn Mendes (“Youth”), and that’s not even scratching the surface. Currently, the hot streak continues with another great pairing, he and STMPD’s Martin Garrix, who cause some motion in the “Ocean” with their reactive collaboration. Upon release late last week, the hit surged to #8 on iTunes in the U.S., one of 46 countries where the pair of performers entered the top ten. It’s also riding a wave of streams on Spotify, as it surfs into the #1 spot on the U.S. Viral chart, just missing that coveted position (#3) on the Global chart. It’s now at 9.59 million streams as of the most recent update, with rapid growth still ahead. Elsewhere, “Ocean” is just outside of the top 100 (#112) on Apple Music in the U.S., with healthy data at YouTube (5.67 million views) and Shazam (39,500 tags) keeping it afloat.
