There’s no stopping the Bardi Gang in their quest to lift KSR Group/Atlantic’s Cardi B to the top of the charts. For the second time in her short career, the popular performer finds herself at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the Bad Bunny and J Balvin-assisted song “I Like It”, a bilingual hit that makes her the first female rapper to top that particular chart twice. It finally lands on top with the help of several factors, including deep discounting at iTunes, placing in the runner-up slot behind her own feature on “Girls Like You” by 222/Interscope’s Maroon 5. (“Like” eventually returned to #1 earlier this week; it has since been displaced.) With over 274.6 million plays to date on Spotify, the collaboration has easily gained traction from the larger pop playlists, in addition to its new remix by Dillon Francis, which has picked up a solid 1.8 million streams in the past two weeks. On YouTube, the music video for “Like”, which scored some time on the service’s Trending list a few weeks back, has a fantastic 203 million views in a period of just over a month. Increased airplay has also played into the picture, as the tune sits at #1 on Shazam’s U.S. chart with 2.5 million tags so far. There’s never too much to like about her!
