If you’re looking for the perfect “SoulMate”, you may find it in RCA’s Justin Timberlake and his new single, which surprised the internet when it dropped on Wednesday afternoon. After a somewhat messy rollout across the major services, given its digital delivery near a holiday, the tune is headed north on the charts with greater speed. As of the most recent update, “SoulMate” comes in at #3 on iTunes in the U.S., with all-genre chart action in 37 countries. This total is well under the 100+ countries where Timberlake’s Man Of The Woods singles like “Filthy” and the Chris Stapleton-assisted “Say Something” charted in, but with time, it should debut in a few additional territories. Playlisting for the song is wider at Apple Music, with key adds on a number of prominent lists (Best of the Week, The A-List: Pop, Today’s Hits, etc.) in the past day, though its Spotify support (Pop Rising) isn’t totally nonexistent. Of course, the majority of playlist action could always change for “SoulMate” at the end of the week, when their New Music Friday lists provide a well-deserved boost. Additional stats for Timberlake’s song put it at 4,700 tags on Shazam, with minor pop airplay, and 450,000 views on YouTube. Get in sync with a summer hit!
