2018 has given us plenty of fresh performers on the horizon, and at Whale Report HQ, we’re all about searching those chart waters for the next big catch before they take over the music world. This week, we hit the highway towards Nashville, as Nashville-based soloist Lennon Stella, one half of the show’s breakout stars Lennon & Maisy, debuts a new track from her upcoming album. The RECORDS artist released “Like Everybody Else” acoustically on Tuesday, which led to coverage from both country and pop outlets, as well as other media sites. On iTunes, the single narrowly missed the top 100 on the all-genre chart, while appearing in the top 30 on the pop list. Overall, Stella’s single charted in 16 countries globally at the service. The song is also responding on Spotify with little playlisting to date, earning over 30,000 plays in just its first day of availability. Of course, this total doesn’t include anything that might potentially pop up for this week’s New Music Friday update, which could provide another substantial boost. The fun continues on YouTube, where a music video for the release has cleared 66,000 views in two days, as her channel passes 700,000 lifetime views in the process. Will Stella’s upcoming music give her the sales and streaming results that her duo’s covers did? “Everybody” wants to know... (Images courtesy of RECORDS, LLC)
