It’s double trouble at the top of iTunes for well-known Vine and YouTube personality Gabbie Hanna, who holds down the top two spots on the U.S. list with her new song “Honestly” and its Encore edition. Some major label artists are able to pull off the feat when their album drops in the market, but it’s a rarity for an independent musician to coordinate such an occurrence, which is certainly a major story for Hanna and her fans. Overall, the main version of “Honestly” entered the all-genre chart in 40 countries, reaching #1 in ten, as the Encore version charted in 31 with a lack of #1 ranks. At 40, “Honestly” has reacted in more countries than a few of her prior releases such as “Roast Yourself” and “Satellite” (each charting in 35), though “Out Loud” continues to be her hit with the largest reach on iTunes, entering in 47 territories upon release last year. The two individual tracks have been streamed a combined 380,000 times so far on Spotify, with a total of over 26 million plays on her catalog to date at the service. Meanwhile, on YouTube, a new video that combines both entries is well over 1.1 million plays in under a day, a testament to the power of her fans who have supported her previous endeavors at the platform. Will this single finally be the one that gets her signed? Our honest opinion: we think this pop bop is going to stick around. (Images courtesy of Gabbie Hanna)
