Piercing the pop world with an album that could only spark an astonished “My my my!” out of its listeners, Capitol’s Troye Sivan has captivated fans around the world with his latest set Bloom. Led by the radio single “My My My!”, which is currently at over 98 million plays on Spotify, the ten-track album bloomed onto the charts on Friday with an opening that will likely be enough for a top five debut on the Billboard 200 chart. In the U.S., Sivan’s release went to #3 on iTunes during a competitive week, and it charted well internationally, entering the all-genre list in 85 countries at the platform. That start falls just shy of the count for the deluxe version of his last studio album, 2015’s Blue Neighbourhood, which entered the same list in 91 countries. In its opening day on Spotify, the album placed six of its ten songs on the main U.S. chart, with five on the Global chart, including “Lucky Strike” (#76 U.S./#95 Global), the Ariana Grande-assisted “Dance To This” (#136 U.S./#121 Global) and “Plum” (#141 U.S./#155 Global). Overall, the album’s tracks have been streamed more than 220 million times combined at the service. At this time, no cuts from the set are on Shazam’s U.S. chart, though “My” and “Dance”, at 553,000 and 188,000 tags, respectively, unsurprisingly lead the way. You can dance to this all you’d like.
