The power of K-pop continues to spread in the U.S. and around the globe with the debut release from SM Entertainment’s Girls' Generation-Oh!GG, a five-member group comprised of some of the original members of Girls' Generation, who went on hiatus last fall. Well, it looks like the ladies haven’t missed a beat, because Lil’ Touch - The 1st Single has the hit touch on the sales chart. Following its debut on Wednesday morning, the project, which features the title cut, “Fermata” and instrumental versions of the two songs, peaked at #3 on iTunes, as it also entered the top five on the all-genre chart in more than 40 countries worldwide. The title cut is also performing nicely on the singles chart, ranking at #62 in the U.S, as “Fermata” climbs into the lower rungs of the top 200. “Lil’” is also outpacing “Fermata” internationally on iTunes, as the former title ranks on the all-genre chart in 54 countries to the latter’s total of 38. Though it’s early in the process, given the minimal streaming and tagging data for both tracks thus far, a video for “Lil’” is also earning some major momentum on YouTube. It’s already cleared six million views in under twelve hours, which will easily make it one of the most-viewed uploads of the week. Could the quintet debut on the Hot 100 if these numbers continue? With a lil’ luck, anything is possible! (Images courtesy of SM Entertainment / YouTube: SMTOWN)
