The Year of Drake isn’t done just yet, as the YMCMB/Republic superstar hops onto the charts once again with the help of a Bunny. No, it’s not Bugs Bunny or the Energizer Bunny, but it is Latin artist Bad Bunny, and their OVO Sound/Rimas/Warner Bros. release “MIA” is attracting fans at multiple platforms. ¡Qué chévere! The popular track reached #2 on iTunes and #1 on Apple Music, becoming the first song performed fully in Spanish to top the latter chart. On the former service, “MIA” debuted on the all-genre list in 82 territories and the top five in 46, with predominantly Spanish-speaking countries like Mexico and Spain reporting #1 peaks on several major services. Unsurprisingly, one of them is Spotify, where the song has earned more than 32 million streams since it debuted and continues its run at #2 on both the Global and U.S. lists. On YouTube, the former Trending video has also experienced a fast ascent: in under a week, “MIA” has been viewed more than 46 million times. It’s also gaining at several radio formats, leading to a massive #11 debut on Shazam’s U.S. chart and a total nearing 155,000 tags. Even if it doesn’t turn into the next “Despacito” statistically, this reactive collaboration is a winner in any language!
