It’s her party and she’ll fly if she wants to… up the national charts, that is. You’re invited to listen to the new tune from Darkroom/Interscope’s Billie Eilish called “when the party’s over”. It’s her first song to be released since the July debut of “you should see me in a crown”, a single which now has 57 million streams on Spotify and ranks at #91 on Shazam’s U.S. list, as it heads for the top ten at the Alternative radio format. By Wednesday afternoon, Eilish’s latest hit blasted into the top ten (#5) on iTunes in the U.S., surpassing the #28 peak for “you”, while also charting in over 50 countries worldwide. Furthermore, “when” is her first single to enter the top ten overall here, besting the #19 peak for the Khalid-assisted “lovely” from earlier this year. Spotify playlisting for “when” ahead of the usual Friday turnover includes lists such as Indie Mixtape and Pop Rising, which aided its first day numbers significantly at the platform. The song is also on its way to higher numbers on both YouTube and Shazam: an audio-only video is now in the top five on the Trending chart at the former with 1.5 million views to date, while it’s collected about 3,200 tags at the latter with little airplay. We think Eilish will secure the throne through the end of 2018. (Images courtesy of Darkroom and Interscope Records / YouTube: Billie Eilish)
