When a stan loves a “Woman”, they can’t keep their mind on nothin’ else… sure, it’s not the way Percy Sledge sang it, but the sentiment is very much true. Mixers around the world had a fabulous day on Friday, as they bought and streamed the newest single from Syco/Columbia’s Little Mix titled “Woman Like Me”. The Nicki Minaj-assisted tune, which will be included on the quartet’s forthcoming album LM5, is still performing well across the larger services: after leaping to #5 on iTunes in the U.S., the collaboration remains in the top 40, with a total of 92 countries reporting “Woman” on their respective all-genre charts at its peak. The track is performing the best in the United Kingdom, the quartet’s home country, where it jumped to the top spot on iTunes and scored a #5 peak (so far) on Spotify. On Shazam, “Woman” flies straight into the top ten at #8 on the U.K. chart with over 47,000 tags to date, with minor data coming out of the U.S. so far. (That could change, however, as the tune has been serviced to U.S. radio.) At more than 6.7 million views on YouTube and 7.6 million plays on Spotify, it’s clear that the group and their latest hit are off to a nice start. Will consumers “Like” the rest of their album? We’ll see!
