With the massive Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots recently, it’s only appropriate that an act would drop a single that’s equally as massive called “Money”. Lo and behold, that tune comes to us courtesy of KSR Group/Atlantic’s Cardi B, who knows quite a bit about money: she’s rapped about her “money moves” on the smash “Bodak Yellow”, followed by an album cut called “Money Bag” and scored a feature on Jennifer Lopez’s song “Dinero”. Her new release is already seeing plenty of green, having reached #2 on iTunes in the U.S., as it lands on the all-genre chart in more than 50 countries. Though “Money” hasn’t reached the heights of her widest opening so far, which is well over 115, it’s earned some solid numbers for its midweek debut. An audio-only clip for the single, which holds at #1 on YouTube’s Trending chart, has more than 7.7 million views since Tuesday afternoon. Furthermore, the song now ranks at #3 on Apple Music’s main chart, making it the top title by a female performer at the platform, while also scoring about 557,000 plays on Spotify in under a day, aided by prominent urban music playlists like Get Turnt and RapCaviar. Sure, you didn’t win the lottery, but you can still hit the jackpot with Cardi B’s hit! (Images courtesy of KSR Group and Atlantic Records)
