If you’re a fan of Warner Bros. star Dua Lipa and all her chart success, then last Friday wouldn’t have been complete without streaming a reissue of her debut self-titled album, dubbed the Complete Edition. Though the updated set was modestly successful worldwide, entering the top 30 in the U.S. on iTunes and the all-genre list in over 50 countries, one of the new songs off it is really caressing the charts. The song “Kiss And Make Up” teams Lipa with Interscope group BLACKPINK, newly signed in the U.S., a female K-pop quartet with a history of several million streams for its catalog across Apple Music and Spotify globally. Accordingly, “Kiss” has a bit of momentum across most services, smooching the top ten on iTunes in the U.S. and landing on the all-genre list in roughly 80 countries, while earning over 12 million streams on Spotify. On YouTube, an official audio-only video has more than 18 million views since last week, with about 41,000 tags coming in for the song on Shazam. In total, all 25 cuts from the updated edition give the album an enormous combined total of more than four billion streams on Spotify, with several billion additional views across videos and audio-only clips on YouTube. That’s really going “Up”. (Images courtesy of Warner Bros. Records)
