With the longevity of Atlantic’s massive soundtrack to The Greatest Showman worldwide, it was inevitable that more music associated with the film would be popping on the charts. About a week ago, it was a mother and daughter team that dreamed that idea into reality, as superstar Pink and Willow Sage Hart debuted their versions of “A Million Dreams” and a reprise of it, respectively, ahead of The Greatest Showman: Reimagined. The former was the more reactive, going as high as #2 on iTunes in the U.S. and charting in 64 countries around the world. As it continues to hold in the top five, it also remains reactive at other services, now at 1.56 million plays on Spotify, buoyed by New Music Friday and pop playlisting, and close to nine million combined views across an in-studio video and audio-only clip on YouTube. Hart, with her 49-second reprise, actually managed to chart in 27 countries on iTunes, peaking at #103 here in the U.S., with about 42,000 streams to date on Spotify. It even has about 2,000 tags on Shazam so far, though that total is well below the sum (just north of 22,000) for her mother’s release. Will the dream of radio for the tune be fully realized? We’ll see if that next step is the greatest option. (Images courtesy of Atlantic Records and YouTube / Atlantic Records)
