From political parties to pop parties and everything in-between, you’d think some of us would be partied out by now. Fortunately, as far as the latter type, the chart celebration continues with the new hit by a pop darling. Following larger titles from Darkroom/Interscope’s Billie Eilish and Elektra’s Brandi Carlile, in a collaboration with Capitol’s Sam Smith, it’s a cut from School Boy/Interscope’s Carly Rae Jepsen, “Party For One”, that’s mailing the invitations and decorating the house. Of course, Jepsen’s solo party has translated worldwide: it entered the all-genre chart in 58 countries on iTunes, reaching #14 on the U.S. list on Friday. As the week continued, “Party” secured more than 2.6 million streams on Spotify, with playlisting on several New Music Friday lists worldwide aiding in the song’s fast ascent. Debuting on the same day, an entertaining music video for Jepsen’s song is also north of 3.8 million views on YouTube to date. A lack of airplay for the track has hindered its results on Shazam for the time being, as it sits just over 4,400 tags, but it could easily rise if pushed to radio here or her native Canada. For now, the pop world happily welcomes the performer and her super new single to the big shindig. (Images courtesy of School Boy and Interscope Records)
