If you thought all would be quiet on the K-pop front this week, think again! A pair of notable titles reached the top ten on iTunes in the U.S. in the past few days, while a third Korean hip hop tune featuring a member of a popular boy band also entered the region. Leading the way, “2! 3!” went to #5 on the all-genre chart for BigHit’s BTS, a 2016 album cut that became the focus of a fan-led campaign (#ProjectBuy23) to support the septet during a mixed week of press. The cut is still charting in more than 70 countries at the service as of Wednesday night and has about 24 million streams on Spotify to date. Member RM also scored with a feature on “Timeless” by FeelGhood quintet Drunken Tiger, which peaked at #8 in the U.S. and charted in 73 countries. Meanwhile, YG/Interscope’s JENNIE, who usually appears with the girl group BLACKPINK, went “SOLO” with her own hit, landing at #7 in the U.S. and appearing on the all-genre chart in 61 territories. It’s also performing very well at Spotify, ranking at #64 on the most recent Global list with 2.8 million streams since its debut, as well as Shazam, receiving just south of 10,000 tags during the same period.
