As the soundtrack to Apple’s short film Share Your Gifts, “come out and play”, the new hit from Darkroom/Interscope’s Billie Eilish, is a pretty good gift to her thankful fans. A few weeks ago, the performer quickly soared into the top five on iTunes with “when the party’s over”, a tune that now has over 82 million streams on Spotify and 48 million views on YouTube. So, it’s no surprise to see that her new release is well on its way to larger numbers at many of the major services. Currently, “come” sits at #21 on iTunes in the U.S., while entering the all-genre chart in nearly 50 countries. It’s one of four titles that Eilish currently has in the top 100 here, followed by another three within the top 200. At Spotify, with about half a day’s worth of data, the song has a good 544,000 streams to date, though it will pick up quickly due to an add in the lead position on the influential Today’s Top Hits playlist. “come” also ranks at #97 on Apple Music, as “when” has a nice hold in the top 40 (#33), while an audio-only clip clears a million views on YouTube. Will it continue to sleigh the holiday season effortlessly? Press “play” and you’ll find the answer. (Images courtesy of Darkroom and Interscope Records)
