We found him! Fresh off his Calvin Harris collaboration “I Found You” and the larger hit “Eastside” with Halsey and Khalid, Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope performer and songwriter benny blanco scored with his first EP as an artist, named after the label he founded: Friends Keep Secrets. The seven-track set, which debuted last Friday, had a decent opening on iTunes internationally, with two dozen countries reporting the release on their respective all-genre lists. In the U.S., the set briefly touched the top 200 overall, though it gained a significantly higher #16 peak on the Pop genre list. On Spotify, the seven songs from the effort are approaching 460 million plays combined, led by “Eastside” (411.3 million plays) and “Found” (34.8 million), with the Jesse and Swae Lee-assisted cut “Better To Lie” now at nearly 7.5 million. “Eastside” also leads the pack at Shazam with 3.588 million tags thus far, well ahead of the rest of the EP. Overall, blanco has a lot of great new friends to share in his secrets. (Images courtesy of Friends Keep Secrets and Interscope Records)
