Musical gifts come in all shapes and sizes, and the must-have pop present for this season has a bit of a hopeful twist. Keeping morale high on the charts, two “hope”-titled hits landed together in the top ten on iTunes in the U.S. late last week, which are sure to be on Santa’s travel playlist. A potent pop anthem from Fueled By Ramen’s Panic! At The Disco, “High Hopes”, had a solid boost into the top five once again, thanks to a performance on NBC’s The Voice. It’s still at #1 on three radio formats and remains active at other services, earning a giant 245 million streams on Spotify, 86 million views on YouTube and 3.4 million tags on Shazam. While that cut continues to soar, another release spreading hope in the pop world is one simply titled “Hope”, a new song from Disruptor/Columbia’s The Chainsmokers and Winona Oak. As the track got to #7 on iTunes in the U.S., it also charted in nearly 50 countries and earned a nice 4.7 million streams on Spotify since its first day. Moral of the story: don’t lose hope in pop music! (Images courtesy of Disruptor/Columbia Records and Fueled By Ramen, LLC)
